BluePrint Engines® and Holley® Carburetors

BluePrint Engines® Chooses Holley® Carburetors as Standard Equipment on Most of their Engine Lineup

BluePrint Engines announced its new partnership with Holley, manufacturer of the carburetors used on most of BluePrint’s line of high-performance engines.

BluePrint Engines President Shawn Sterling says Holley is reliable, easy to work with and always delivers on time. “At BluePrint Engines, we have high standards. Holley meets and exceeds those standards, and we are proud to include their product on most of the engines we build.”

Holley sees this new relationship the same. Bill Tichenor, Holley’s Director of Marketing says, “After getting to know BluePrint Engines and seeing the high-quality work they do, we are happy that our carbs are shipping on some really great engines.” BluePrint Engines builds over a hundred different performance engines for Chevy, Ford and Chrsyler models.

Sterling says that the new partnership with Holley is about more than just supply; it’s about great service and support that is already helping improve plant efficiency. “From the beginning of our relationship with Holley, they have been very attentive to our specific needs. They value what’s important to our production flow, and they respond quickly to technical questions.” Sterling says that in the end, it’s the customers who will benefit from the reliable quality that BluePrint Engines is known for.

This new partnership will give customers access to these high-performance 600 cfm and 750 cfm carburetors at the time of ordering. BluePrint Engines offers most of their engines in three configurations: base engine; based dressed (with carburetor); and fully dressed (with fuel injection). BluePrint Engines dyno tests their engines, and includes a dyno printout right in the crate, so every customer knows the kind of horsepower and torque they can expect from their new power plant.

Street Legal TV Features BluePrint Engines

The latest addition to our Chevy stable of project cars is one of the most popular cars from the early muscle car era: a first year 1964 Chevelle two door sports coupe in stunning white. Chevrolet produced the midsized Chevelle to compete in the muscle car market against Ford Fairlanes and Pontiac GTOs.

In 1964, 76,860 Chevrolet Chevelles were produced with either a 283ci or 327ci small-block, a bit small for the competition at the time. The Chevelle line was soon beefed up and it’s strong performance at a reasonable price made it popular with the muscle car crowd.

We immediately saw the potential to keep this car popular with the muscle car enthusiasts and envisioned a high performance LSx crate engine swap from BluePrint Engines under the hood. Getting this project car into our stable was a “no-brainer.” LSx swaps are an increasingly popular method for adding reliable power, and “Project BluePrint” was born.

We picked up our Chevelle project car for a tidy sum of cash because it was in fantastic shape. The exterior paint was fairly new and well done. The sheet metal was in great shape and the bright work was perfect. Aesthetically, the Chevelle was in excellent shape, which meant that we could focus on the real nuts and bolts for the project car. So, we laid out a plan. Read the first part of the story on Street Legal TV!

BluePrint Engine Featured in a Hot Rod Magazine Engine Swap

Hot Rod Magazine Swaps a BluePrint Engine in Summit Racing's Parking Lot: The Parts List

Hot Rod's Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger wrapped up yet another adventure in their Roadkill series with a successful finish to their '69 El Camino engine swap in the parking lot of Summit Racing Equipment's Retail Store in Sparks. They drove from LA to the Summit Racing store in Nevada to swap the tired 350 two-barrel small block for a BluePrint Engines 383 stroker motor. Mike and David did all of the work themselves, with tools they brought themselves, on a car that has had a questionable life at best.

The two-day swap involved wrenching out the old engine, getting snowed on, dropping the new engine in, and getting snowed on some more. The boys finished up the swap on Friday April 6 and motored home to the City of Angels in time to unwrap their Easter baskets on Sunday.

You can see all of Mike and David's shenanigans on Hot Rod's Facebook page. Everyone will be able hot-rod-logoto watch the entire saga on the latest installment of Hot Rod's Roadkill video series on YouTube.

In the meantime. we thought you would like to see the list of parts Mike and David used for the swap--you know, in case anyone else is daft enough to attempt their own Roadkill adventure.
